jobs are just one click away

It is about four years now that I am working at my current employer yet Job Street online still sending me emails about job openings. It is funny but I am thankful that they still care to present me such opportunities. I appreciate the fact that even after years of being dormant to them, they still keep me on their database. I remember the first time I graduated from College way back, I struggled to get opportunities. I contented to look for job openings at newspapers every Sunday. But now, thanks to the internet, College Grad Job Search is such a breeze.

political killings

What happened in Maguindanao last week did not just make a stab to ailing reputation of the municipalities in the south but yet again proved that it is really not safe to go there because of rampant violence. And this season when election time is looming around, we should expect more to come. When I think about it, it's just really horrible. How can they do it? If you happen to not know what had transpired in Maguindanao, you can Google about it and find out about this totally insane and inhumane massacre because of politics. So far, body counts sum up to fifty seven people including those belong in the media who tried to cover the Mangudadatu family whose about to file their candidacy and worst the innocent commuters who just passed by the incident and caught up with it.

If I would think about the political killings that happen in our country, I can't help but to think African natives and rebels fighting over loose diamonds in Sierra Leone, yet it is worse here. What politicians are fighting here is just the position, the power within such electoral positions. With this kind of mindset politicians are having here, it is but safe to tell the world that living outside the Southern part of Mindanao is a must and peaceful.

holidays are coming

It is a couple of days more and we are going to enter the last month of the year, December. And December has a whole lot meaning to everyone - bonuses, snow, gifts, holidays, vacation... But for everyone who has been working the whole year off, vacation is the first thing to come on one's mind comes December. And as the end of the month is nearing, we're still thinking where to go for our time off. Maybe I should check out the internet for some ideas, too bad where too miles away to make orlando vacations possible which has been one of the best destinations for family vacations. Situated there are Disney World and Univesal Studio among others. So, maybe we would just go to our parents house this holidays, anyway, keeping our family strong and united in these troubled times is I think that most matters.

baby E's day out

It's yet again a big day out for baby Eloise and I as we went to the mall because of our internet has gone down again yesterday. As usual, it was a bad timing since I just came back from my parent's house and the shop has been closed for a day but it was always a good day out for baby Eloise. As usual, our outing to the mall would not be complete without her riding the walking animals in toy kingdom, a stroll through out the stretched-hall of the whole 2nd floor where stalls of teddy bears are situated, and buying Sabor, her favorite chocolate cookies. She has learned to pick up the cookies on the stall and bring it to the nearby cashier to pay it first before asking me to open it. Well, i taught of her that because I want to insist to her that everything she sees in the mall is not free and has to be paid first. And that if we can not afford it, she should not ask for it and just let it go. It's delightful and somewhat funny that baby Eloise seems to quite understand what I mean. But what she always asks me and won't let it pass is that she wants to hold on for a moment the SM Advantage Card after the cashier swipes it to their POS systems. She wants it to receive first before handing it back to me as if she's the one who pays to the cashier. It is amusing, really. I just don't like it her shrieking when I do not let baby Eloise do it her way, (bad Hannah! : )

Life is so short

Sometimes when I'm alone and thinking about death,I feel fear. Death comes at no given time in any instances and nobody will know it. There's this doctor who died at the young age of 30, she went home so happy but after opening their refrigerator she collapsed and died in an hour of being unconscious. Her husband who's also a doctor got the news only after his rounds to the hospital where he found his wife confined. Some people wonder what really happened because as a doctor they should know how to take care of themselves and tragedy like that should be avoided. But I told them they're just doctors, they are not God as only God knows what will really happen to us. Life is a gift from God, so take good care of it. It is a good thing to have a life insurance. Life is so short, so better live happily, live by making others happy and live by doing good everyday.

missing dad and baybu

At last, my husband and baby Eloise made their way home from my in-laws house tonight. They were there since Monday and I thought they won't come back tonight . If not for my in-laws' Medicare supplement insurance paper, I will not let them left home for that long because I really do miss them both. And as usual, when they get home, they tend to smell 'not nice' because of the pollution outdoor but smelling good or bad I embraced them tight when they arrived.

pinoy shows get to Emmys

I felt glad when i saw the news about Angel Locsin as one of the nominees for best Actress in Emmy Awards. Angel's performance as a wolf in the ABS-CBN teleserye "Lobo" merited a nomination under the Best Performance by an Actress category.

Angel, is one of the most beautiful actresses today. She has pretty eyes and a very beautiful body. Even she has a hectic schedules she always looks fresh, her face glows like those models of a wrinkle cream.

Angel Locsin deserves what she got now. She doesn't only have a pretty face but has a good heart too. She was the one who initiated the online selling of celebrities bags and accessories for donation to the victims of "Bagyong Ondoy." She is also a good daughter/provider to her blind father and her family.

Julie Walters grab the title for Best Actress. But for Filipino people Angel is also the winner.

Pacquiao is the best, Cotto is no less than a man

I think you know guys that it has been given that as a Filipino, it is but natural that we support and root for our fellow Pinoy and that is Manny Pacquiao. But after the super fight that took place last Saturday night (Sunday noon here) at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, I can't help but admire Pacquiao's bigger foe Miguel Angel Cotto for his courage to stay in the game, for giving us boxing fans one of the best fights we've seen and most of all for being a great sportsman and professional. Just right after referee Kenny Bayless halted the fight to save him from further damage, he did not hesitate to come on Manny's corner to give the pound-for-pound king his props and respect as the Pacman was kneeling citing some prayer. The question lingers now in the boxing world is that, Is there left for Miguel Cotto? Should he retire after this? But given Cotto's instant remark after the fight was that he will continue fighting and I think he should because he's still young and in his prime (age-wise) and that he can still develop more to being greater fighter if not better than of what he is now. Just like when Pacquiao first lost to Erik Morales, he did not stop from there. That lost did not derail him but trained harder and developed his boxing skills instead. Thanks to Freddie Roach. And that I think is the other matter should Cotto focus on, he should think if his corner man Joe Santiago really helps. In that fight with Manny last Saturday, I think his coach just showed really what he's like Freddie Roach said, "green". His lack of experience in handling championship fights made him more of a cheerleader rather than a coach to Miguel. He always pointed Cotto to stay in the game but never gave any tactical advise to his fighter. No adjustments or whatsoever. But that's the way I think Cotto liked it. I heard that he preferred Santiago as his corner man because the young coach and former nutritionist respect and just follow his orders, a "Yes man" they say. Well, the fight has been fought, the damage has been done so I guess what should Miguel do now is take a full rest and give himself a break. Spend time with his family as what Manny will do when he gets home so that his injuries will heal, physically and emotionally. He should take his family to a resort, because I know like the Philippines, Puerto Rico is an island nation so they are also rich in resorts and beaches. I don't know if Cozumel hotels are in Puerto Rico, I'm not sure but I know it is within a latin country, Mexico perhaps. I believe there are good resorts there too. Well, anywhere he wants to be in this coming holidays, he should take well his rest so that he can immediately come back, because his one of the reasons why boxing is alive and makes it a good sport.

Pacquiao vs Cotto Aftermath

It is already a day that Pacquiao has beaten Miguel Cotto but still I can't take off my excitement to see again the fight. I don't know, maybe because I just saw the fight in YouTube (round by round) or just that Manny Pacquiao was really stunning in that fight that I want to watch it again (full). And just as I also read my husband's non-stop viewing of news and blog posts over Pacland (website dedicated about Pac), I was amazed to know that this win gave Manny Pacquiao a new fold to history in boxing. He's right now the only fighter who holds seven titles, in seven weight divisions and still fighting. Though according to reports and to Manny too that he'll no longer fight on heavier division and this is his limit. Good to hear that I guess, since it is a dangerous sport. Even though he's winning every fight, he can't avoid also to being hit in the head, and there are risks. Also, the physical conditioning you are about to take before every fight is grueling, albeit the fact that he has one of the best conditioning coach in Alex Ariza. He (Ariza) is a Columbian nutritionist/conditioning coach that taught Manny Pacquiao plyometrics, a technique on how to burn fat easily and add muscles as you gain weight but retain the power Manny Pacquiao needs. So props to him for really doing the good job for our Manny.

I really can't say much about what Manny Pacquiao has achieved right now, it's just that at this moment, I want my husband to finish his downloading of his HD copy of the fight to watch it again in crystal clear, with the voices of my favorite HBO commentators and the celebrities who attended the fight. : )

extreme make-over: home edition

I don't know if it's a coincidence or my husband just really want a new house badly but what he has been downloading lately were episodes from hit reality TV Extreme Make-Over: Home Edition. Actually, it was my first time to watch the show since we didn't have a cable back on my parents house when I was single. Unlike my husband, they have a cable at his parent's home so he had been watching a couple of episodes back then.

I was mesmerized not just by an episode but the whole concept of that particular show. I love the fact that most families who have been awarded for a free home make-over were really deserving. Families that had been involved in giving back to society by a charitable institution they're working or government agencies that cater to help people. And the funny thing is that, they dedicated their whole life in fulfilling their everyday duties and goals yet they can't even fix or repair problems in their home. I also like how they do the whole project in just one week as the family goes to a vacation (mostly in Disney's theme parks and other destination). It's really an extreme makeover as they do not just renovate houses but built a totally new house that's so big and beautiful. I also love how they do each part of the house as the family's own reflection, they do not just built it but relate it to the family. From light fixtures, to flooring, and appliances, all were well made. But what I like the most about the show is that it represents the goodness of giving back and unity. Because without the help of community (that always willing to volunteer), they couldn't done the project in a week. And that what makes the show interesting and heart-warming to watch. I just hope we have the same program here in the country.

hoping for a new home

It is our dream to have our own home and I am hoping it would materialize next year. I am really tired of renting because of the restrictions and inhibitions our landlady is showing us. We can't keep our privacy within ourselves and worse of the matter is that they tend to ask for a raise in rent if they see you have your relatives live at you even for a while. I think if you rented out an apartment, you are renting the whole apartment for your own good and convenience. So even if you make it a stock room, or you sleep on the floor, dine in the bathroom, that's all your rights to do it as long you do not change anything on the building. And that privileges are what we want and we'll have if we ever have our own home.

I don't have any particular design I like and definitely I am not aiming for a mansion but at least a building or a structure that we can be protected could do. A home where everyone of my family is safe, away from harm, heat of the sun and typhoon proof. But my husband like what I've posted in my recent posts is liking to collect designs from manufactured homes in the internet, because as he said it is economical and designs are really good. Well, since it seems that he has a plan, we better save now for it so we can have it as soonest as possible.

Pacquiao's bigget test yet

It is about six more days and boxing's Pride of the Philippines and pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao will square off with Puerto Rico's WBO Welterweight champion Miguel Cotto at MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas. I'm not a big boxing fan but I am definitely Manny's fan. I don't watch boxing if it's not Manny who's fighting and don't know technically anything about the sport rather than punching each other before. But because of my husband's influence (and teachings), I don't just know the rules of the sport but know some of lively commentators as well like HBO's Larry Merchant and my favorite Jim Lampley.

The fight is scheduled in 12 rounds on Saturday night of November 14 but actually it would be November 15 here in the Philippines at around 11AM. Our barangay's covered basketball court would probably be jammed pack again by spectator from all around the place on Sunday as there would again be a free live viewing here. But unfortunately, I might catch the fight on replays since I will watch out for our shop that Sunday. Unlike his (Manny) first fight with Ricky Hatton, I was able to watch it with husby in the court because of my mother's presence here those days as she used to babysit baby Eloise. But now that she's long gone, I am sure my husband will not afford to take baby Eloise along with us because last fight, we barely had a room to breathe because of too much people in the basketball court. Add to that, that most of them are men who smoke while watching so I am pretty sure I'll be with Eloise at home. But it's okay, anyway, even if I watch it live, I will not absorb it right away as I can't clearly see the live projection in screen because of the brightness of the sun that time. If only we have cable, my husband will probably subscribe PPV and we will see the fight clearer much of like in bell tv in the US. Anyway, clear or not is fine with me, as long as Manny wins, we can celebrate anyway we can and that is all that matters. Go Manny!

Pretty Kim

Kimberly Sue Yap Chiu (born April 19, 1990) is the first Teen Big winner of Pinoy Big Brother-Teen edition.

During her stay at PBB house, she was never nominated by her co-teen housemates. Aside from her beautiful face that no signs of acne treatment, her sense of humor, her smile as well as her very positive disposition and sportsmanship made her one of the early bets by the viewers to win. A semi-contortionist, Kim made everyone laugh with her stunts like crossing her two legs at the back of her head. I remember her the day when Big Brother asked her to sing.

Now, she is consider as one of TV Series Princess of the Philippine television. Ms. Kris Aquino, who's going to be her mother on her next TV Series consider her as the number one young actress today.

Beautiful Home

This elegant home with wow factor was just one of my husband's compilation of beautiful houses with their interiors. As you can see the kitchen has a nice lay-out that makes it look cozy place to cook. Cabinets are arranged well, flooring has quality tile, ceilings is also built well.

Browsing, gathering pictures of beautiful houses over the net, newspapers etc was my husband new hobby.

I was surprised when I saw him saving pictures of beautiful houses. But I'm so optimistic about it, currently we are renting home, dreaming to own one is not bad at all.
